Friends of Erin, the Campbells commissioned me to take some portraits of their young family for Matthew and Marks’ birthday(s) out in Buffalo. Starting with some cake for Matthew with her visiting from out of town family, they had fun eating the sweet food (it was Matthew’s first time), then played some hockey. We then headed down the street to Rolly Pollies, a fun gymnastics gym for kids, and Mark’s 3rd birthday party.
I believe that families are best documented in a photojournalistic manner- it is a far more authentic representation of your family and their interactions. Among my own photos, the ones that have lasting value to me are the ones documented naturally, instead of posed.
