Kristen + Jeff’s Wedding, 3 Dec 11 | Rochester NY Wedding Photographer

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

To say my last wedding for 2011 was interesting would be an understatement. Between quite possibly the least serious bridal party ever, a broken camera, loads of smiles and tears, and epic portraits this wedding put a great finishing touch on the year for me.

I shot Kristen and Jeff’s engagement photos earlier this year in Durand Eastman park and got to know their playful and romantic spirit with each other. This day I got to meet their friends and family who were simply a hoot. The photos will reflect this.

Thank you Kristen and Jeff for a great wedding, I know you and your families will treasure these photos for years to come- I had a terrible hard time picking them because there were so many good ones, so many great moments- tears and laughter.

Excited to be getting married!

Kristen and her cat

These ladies just start laughing like this when seated together- I didn’t ask them to do anything.. makes my job easy :)

Onto the ceremony at St Louis Church, in Pittsford (where I shot my first wedding as main photographer). Kristen and her dad share a tender moment

Thumbs up from mom

Married!

Details of the day

We then headed over to the Lamberton Conservatory for portraits. With the weather being exceptionally warm for December we were able to do some outside too.

My favorite portrait of the day

The reception was at the Monroe Golf Club featuring christmas and winter themed decorations. It was shortly after arriving that one of my cameras simply broke and stopped working. However, since I have 3 camera bodies I was able to pick up and keep on shooting without missing anything. This is why it is important to hire a professional with backup equipment :)

Megan, the maid of honor, delivers the funny, embarrassing stores for her toast / speech ;)

As a surprise, Jeff’s parents had paid for Paper Moon Productions to do a same-day edit and present a video of the ceremony during the dinner. Coincidentally, the last time they had a same-day edit was when they shot Kat and Josh’s wedding last year.

Fun with moustaches

They had a dance competition which was quite funny

Then it was party time for the rest of the night!

Elise + Derek’s Wedding, 10 Sep 11 | Rochester NY Wedding Photography

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Last October, Elise and Derek hired me to take their engagement photos. Naturally, they liked them so much they brought me on as their wedding photographer, and I am glad they did. It was great to meet their families and friends and have a beautiful, happy day together.

The ceremony was at the United Methodist Church of Webster, followed by a reception at the distinguished Penfield Country Club. I was followed all day by the 2-person video crew from Fruit Tree Studios (I recommend them BTW, they were nice to work with).

This was my second wedding this year with a large bridal party, and my 100% streak of un-air conditioned ceremonies this year has been maintained :) At least on this day the weather was comfortably in the 70′s so it wasn’t warm at all inside.

There are a lot of fun and sentimental photos in here, which I believe accurately reflects Elise + Derek’s personalities. Enjoy.

Dad sees her fully dressed for the first time

One of my favorites.. Derek was alone in the basement, just waiting for someone to come get him and have him come upstairs for the ceremony start.

I don’t know all the details, but she was in a wheelchair most of the day. She had been working all summer to build up the strength to walk down the aisle for this wedding.. a truly touching moment. I don’t think anyone besides Elise and Derek were happier than this woman all day.

Congratulations :)

Next we head to do some quality wedding photography at Penfield Country Club

Epic group shot

Party time!

This was the first wedding I went to where each table had a cake for a centerpiece. What a fabulous idea! Elise and Derek enjoy a little cake of their own..

Father-daughter dance

Mother and son

DJ then invited all mothers and sons to dance.. and this tender, authentic moment unfolded

Time to dance!

Party people

Mother of bride

Thanks again for a great time.
